Sidewalks and Screens

The aim of this working group is to incubate ideas that explore the notion of publics, public participation and publicizing across physical- and pixel-space. Through a series of regular meetings and occasional public events, we will engage emerging debates about the public sphere, the promises and challenges of living onscreen and on the street, the evolving relationship between data and power as well as discussing research methods for interrogating these issues. The emergent nature of these concerns necessitates a broad, interdisciplinary conversation between scholars across the social sciences, humanities, and professional schools including law.
