Matthew Wolfe is a journalist and doctoral candidate in sociology at New York University, where he uses qualitative and quantitative methods to study the social patterning of and societal reaction to missing persons in contemporary and historical contexts. His long-form, narrative journalism combines storytelling, deep reporting, and findings from social science.

He holds degrees from Columbia and New York University and is currently a fellow at NYU’s Institute for Public Knowledge.
