Nahoko Kameo

Nahoko Kameo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at New York University. Her research areas are organizational sociology, economic sociology, science and technology studies and the sociology of Japan. Her first book,  Cosmopolitan Scientists: How a Global Policy of Commercialization Became Japanese, is forthcoming in Fall 2024 with Stanford University Press. Her new project is based on an ethnography of a social robotics laboratory in Japan that produces humanoid robots. She received a PhD in Sociology from UCLA.
